Submission of abstracts

Conference proceedings will be published in the Central Asian Journal of Nephrology (CAJN). The National Kidney Foundation of Kazakhstan invites researchers, clinicians, and scientists to submit their scientific abstracts to the Central Asian Congress of Nephrologists 2026. All submitted abstracts will undergo a thorough peer review by members of the Scientific Committee. Accepted abstracts will be published as conference proceedings in a special supplementary issue of the Central Asian Journal of Nephrology (CAJN). Each accepted abstract will be assigned a unique DOI (Digital Object Identifier). (Event Stage / Deadline):

• Abstract submission opens / July 15, 2026
• Abstract submission deadline / September 10, 2026 (23:59 GMT+5)
• Notification of acceptance / September 15, 2026
• Congress dates / October 9–10, 2026

To ensure an efficient review process, authors are required to strictly follow the submission and formatting requirements below:

• Language: All abstracts must be written and submitted exclusively in English.
• Submission method: Abstracts must be submitted only through the CAJN online submission system. Abstracts submitted by e-mail or in printed form will not be considered.
• Length: The maximum length is 400 words per abstract (excluding the title, author list, and institutional affiliations).
• Illustrative materials: Each abstract may include no more than two tables and two figures, provided they are of high resolution and uploaded directly through the online submission system.

Depending on the type of study, abstracts must be structured using the following mandatory headings:

Format A: Original Research / Systematic Reviews

• Background/Introduction: Clearly describe the rationale for the study, the clinical context, and the study objective.
• Methods: Briefly describe the study design, setting, participants, interventions, and/or statistical methods used.
• Results: Present the main findings supported by actual data. General statements such as "results will be presented at the Congress" will result in immediate rejection of the abstract.
• Conclusion: State the principal conclusion of the study, its clinical significance, or its broader scientific implications.

Format B: Clinical Case Reports

• Introduction/Background: Provide the relevant clinical context, literature background, and explain the uniqueness or particular importance of the clinical case.
• Case Presentation: Include a detailed description of the patients demographic characteristics, medical history, key diagnostic findings, treatment provided, and clinical outcome.
• Conclusion: Highlight the educational value of the case, key clinical lessons, and practical recommendations for clinicians.

Abstracts covering all areas of experimental, clinical, and preventive nephrology are especially welcome, including:

• Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD): pathogenesis and treatment
• Glomerular, tubulointerstitial, and cystic kidney diseases
• Dialysis, hemofiltration, and modern extracorporeal therapies
• Kidney transplantation: clinical outcomes, immunology, and immunosuppressive therapy
• Pediatric nephrology
• Arterial hypertension, metabolic syndrome, and cardiovascular complications in patients with kidney disease
• Diabetic nephropathy and lifestyle-related kidney diseases

• Peer review process: All submitted abstracts will undergo a double-blind peer review by the Scientific Review Committee, taking into account scientific merit, clinical relevance, originality, and quality of presentation.
• Responsibility for submission accuracy: Please ensure that your abstract has been thoroughly proofread and finalized before submission. After the CAJN submission system closes on September 10, 2026, no further corrections, structural changes, or modifications to the list of authors will be accepted.
• Publication policy: Submission of an abstract implies that at least one of the authors will register for the Congress and present the study if the abstract is accepted.
